FAQ

 This page contains questions frequently asked by those schools interested in participating in Kids Connect - Ctrl, Alt, Create.  If you have any further questions please email us on kidsconnect2011@gmail.com and we will place your questions and the answers on this page.  

 

Q.  When and where is Kids Connect - Ctrl Alt Create being held?

A. The conference runs from the 27th-28th of July at the Brisbane Powerhouse.

On the second day we will have  a presentation night running from 5:00-6:30pm on the Turbine Platform.  This will allow the delegates to share and show off what they have learnt!  It is also a chance for the Kids Connect Organising Committee to say thank you to all our sponsors and helpers.  

 

Q. What time is the workshop running each day?

A. The workshop will run each day from 8:30 am  for a 9:00 am start and will be finishing at 3:00 pm  the first day and 6:30 pm the second day to allow time for the presentations.

 

Q.  Will I get to work on more than one breakout activity?

A. No.  You work on one breakout activity for the whole two days so you can learn to use the technology properly and so you can finish your project.  

 

Q. Can parents attend the evening presentation on Thursday 28th July from 4pm-7pm?

A.  Yes!  We would love as many as parents as possible to come along and see your wonderful work.  

 

Q. How many students are we allowed to bring?

A. You can bring as many students as you like but they need to be from Years 5-7.  However, places are limited so get in quick to make sure you get a spot.

 

Q. Will the teachers who attend the conference stay with the group of children that they bring from their school?

A. No.  Teachers will attend a professional development workshop whilst the students work with a facilitator to develop new skills.

 

Q. What is the cost per child/school?

A. For every child or teacher coming, the cost is $110. For example, if there are 10 students and 1 teacher the cost will be $1210 to attend.  

 

Q. Do I need to bring an extra teacher or parent for supervision?

A. You don’t need to bring a teacher or a parent for supervision as a facilitator will look after the children you take.

 

Q. Do the children or I need to bring any equipment?

A. No you don’t need to bring any equipment to the conference.

 

Q. How many schools will be attending the Kids Connect Conference?

A. We have sent out information about the conference to all catholic schools in Brisbane so we look forward to hearing replies from them soon! 

 

Q. Will I need to bring my own food to the conference?

A. No.  We will provide the following at the conference: 

Day 1 -  Morning tea and lunch will be provided.

Day 2 -  Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided. PLEASE NOTE THAT DINNER WILL NOT BE PROVIDED
