Public Relations Department

The Public Relations Department contacts the public asking for deals and discounts on items such as stationery and food products. Gabby a member of Public Relations is researching items for the gift bags that are given to the delegates attending Kids Connect. In the gift bags we were hoping to have pencils, pens, lanyards, water bottles, wristbands and much more. Hopefully we will be successful! Another aspect we have to organize is catering. Luna has been busy contacting catering companies, butchers and bakeries. Kids Connect will have to cater for 250 attendees at lunch, morning tea, afternoon tea and dinner. This is one of the toughest jobs for Public Relations. Following catering are printing and designing needs with Georgia managing it. The logo designed by the Creative Affairs Department is being transferred into digital form by the DAIS crew. The last step is media controlled by Lilli who has to contact news reporters, television stations, journalists and radio presenters to try to get Kids Connect in the media. We need Kids Connect in the media because Kids Connect is a marvelous event and we would like the world to know. Public Relations have to sell Kids Connect to the media with our new persuasive skills. So far Public Relations has learnt many new skills like writing formal letters, making formal phone calls and meeting with complete strangers from a number of different organizations about things that are needed for Kids Connect. The members of the Public Relations Department are Lilli, Gabby, Luna and Georgia.
